Mother says shots fired at her family's home, part of ongoing threats reported to HCSO

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- A mother told ABC13 shots were fired at her north Harris County home while her children and husband were inside sleeping.

Erma Williams said it happened Sunday morning while she was at work.

Williams said no one was hurt, but she said this comes after months of other threats she's reported to the Harris County Sheriff's Office.

"How do I feel? Distraught," Williams said. "I'm only grateful because none of my family got hurt."

Williams told ABC13 that this wasn't a random act. Instead, she claimed this is the latest incident after months of threats against her son and her family.

She showed ABC13 four case reports made to HCSO that ranged from aggravated assault, suspicious person, and deadly conduct.

Williams said things have escalated from teens driving by flashing guns and now, she said, the shooting at her home.

Still, she feels little has changed and not enough is being done to get those responsible.

"What do I do? That's my thing," Williams said. "If they're not going to do anything to help me protect my family, what am I? I'm stuck in this situation."

ABC13 reached out to HCSO for more information about Sunday's shooting and any past cases and is awaiting a response.

Ultimately, Williams said she's worried about what might happen next.

"These teenagers need to get off the streets with these weapons," Williams said. "That's what's going on."
